Day 4 of the Wedding Festivities ~ The Wedding Day

After a year of planning, 855 emails, countless phone calls, and several meetings, the much anticipated wedding day is here! The setup required 30 solid hours of labor, 20 crew members, a 30 foot truck, a pick-up truck and trailer, a sprinter, a Jeep Cherokee, a minivan, and a subaru - each packed to the brim! As the venue was built in the 1900's, we had a few challenges loading and unloading. The path leading from the driveway to the front door was 2.5 ft wide and 175 yards long. You can imagine the problems this posed for unloading couches, fire pits, and all sorts of equipment. We managed to gain access to a side road, which allowed us to drive 100 yds closer to the entrance. We still had to battle the rocks jutting out of the path, the stone steps, and a narrow doorway. Once everything was unloaded the stacks and piles were daunting. But, with the incredible A team on board - Bellissima Floral, Crux Events & Party Rents, and One Fine Day's team, we pulled it off with ease!

At 2:30pm, the furniture was in place, candles were lit, and the guests started to arrive. I took a few snapshots with my iphone  - obviously these are not even close to what Catherine Hall will produce, but they will give you a little glimpse!

Top left - the ceremony took place on the beach with benches built by Crux Events, petals covering the altar, and a lovely lounge setting in the back. Top right - Bellissima dressed up the chandeliers to modernize the look of the 110 year old dining room. Bottom - intimate lounge settings overlooking the lake were placed on the decks, lawn, and beach.

The overall look was romantic, organic, and very comfortable. I can't wait to see Catherine Hall's photos - stay tuned!

Day 3 of the Wedding Festivities ~ The Welcome Dinner

Instead of a traditional Rehearsal Dinner, Angela and Jeremy decided to have a Welcome Dinner. Since all of their friends and family traveled to celebrate their wedding, they invited everyone. Guests arrived to a beautiful setting at the Blue Onion Cafe on Old Brockway golf course. Flowers arranged by Bellissima Floral had a freshly picked feel to them, which blended nicely with the crisp yellow umbrellas! Although the setting was casual, Angela dressed it up a bit with a gorgeous Vera Wang cocktail style dress. The kids ran around on the grass, while the adults enjoyed mingling and viewing the "Who's that guy" album that Angela and Jeremy created to help their guests get to know each another. Everything involving this couple is paired with humor!

Day 2 of the Wedding Festivities ~ River Rafting

To start the celebratory week, we have arranged for all of the guests to enjoy a lazy float down the Truckee river with the bride and groom. Guests met in a parking lot where we arranged for buses to drive them to the starting point. Sunscreen was lathered, liability forms signed, and cold beverages ready to be cracked open. After the 2 1/2 hour long float, guests enjoyed lunch and cocktails on the River Ranch's patio.

Day 1 of the Wedding Festivities ~ Gift Bags

As guests rolled in and checked into their hotel rooms, they were greeted with a lovely gift bag. This was not your generic gift bag - it was a beautiful bag complete with Tahoe House Bakery goodies (grill seasoning, fruit preserves & crackers), a lovely letter explaining all of the various activities, and a card made by One Fine Day that noted the various things to see and do in Tahoe. Four hours and 115 miles later, all bags have been delivered to 110 very excited guests!

Breakdown of a Week-Long Wedding Celebration

This weekend we are preparing for a very exciting and complex wedding. The daily

events have been geared towards entertaining their guests while providing a hassle free vacation. All ages have been invited and every detail has been thought of and seen to. When I first met with Angela and Jeremy, the bride and groom, they requested a non-traditional celebration - no first dances, no formal traditions, and absolutely no fuss. This morphed into a week-long celebration of pure Tahoe fun blended with bikinis, Vera Wang dresses, sumptuous food, and lakefront vows. Follow us for the next few days as we document the daily events and trials & tribulations of planning a flawless celebration for Angela and Jeremy's wedding!

The Ritz-Carlton Wedding | Italy Meets Tahoe

We just received the images from our Memorial Day Wedding! A day after another late Spring snow fall, the weather thankfully cleared and the sun finally came out ... just in time for Rose and Dan's outdoor ceremony at the new Ritz-Carlton Highlands. It was beautiful! Rose and Dan are quite possibly the most laid back bride and groom I have ever met. They took the planning stumbles (of which were many) with ease and were as sweet as pie!

Annie X Photographie | Engagement Pics

Nothing like big smiles and a little snow for an engagement shoot! Sam and Tim spent their engagement session with the very talented Annie X in downtown Truckee, CA. Annie is fabulous at finding fun locations for creative shots. It helps when the town comes with a fake, old-fashioned gas station! This weekend, the two will tie the knot in Squaw Valley! Enjoy their engagement photos below and stay tuned to see the wedding photos shortly!

PlumpJack Wedding | Winter Wonderland

Jon and Jessica married under heavy snowflakes surrounded by the warmth of their family and friends. Although the weather was freezing, they were elated with the snow and the amount of guests that traveled to be with them. It was their dream to get married at the top of the ski resort ... whether the sun was out or hiding behind the clouds. The bridesmaids wore uggs and matching cream pea coats; the groomsmen were decked out in sorrels in matching suits; and the guests were bundled in coats. It was a beautiful service!

Squaw Valley Wedding in the Winter

Words can't even describe how elated I am for Jon & Jessica. They had the most magical wedding I have ever coordinated! A huge amount of planning, organizing, and strategizing was involved with an outdoor ceremony in the middle of winter during a series of storms. But, it was beautiful and so worth it! Thanks to the fabulous photographer, Mike Larson, and his team, here are a couple sneak peaks. More to come soon! 01_cu8c5558_mikelarson2

PlumpJack Wedding | Mountain Bliss

Jennifer Riley Photography Sarah and Mike were married at 8200 feet (almost the top of Squaw Valley Ski Resort) and celebrated at the base of the mountain at PlumpJack Squaw Valley Inn. The entire weekend was a beautiful celebration, complete with several surprises for their out of town guests. One of which, was the transport to the ceremony - a cable car that traveled over, around, and under a few mountains climbing 2000 feet. The ceremony took place on High Camp's deck overlooking the world...well, at least it felt like that. Mountains upon mountains fell in front of the guests, as the lake glistened in the distance.

The ring bearers were the cutest little boys and so proud to be a part of their Aunt and Uncle's big day. The wedding party, shown above, was made up of the bride's sisters; who were each allowed to pick out their own dress and choose the color. The colorful combo was perfect!

After the ceremony at High Camp, guests were escorted to PlumpJack Squaw Valley Inn's pool deck where they were served a selection of delicious appetizers including tasty pizza slices cooked in the wood fired oven.

After the happy couple entertained the guests with their choreographed first dance, Hip Service shook the dance floor with their high energy singing, dancing, and entertaining.

Testarossa Winery Wedding | Sweet Love

Jen Good Photography Words can't even describe the beauty of this wedding. From the venue to the accessories, everything was perfect!

The ceremony and reception both took place at Testarossa Winery in Los Gatos. The ceremony was outdoors on the patio, which was decorated with string lights, candles, flowers, crystals, and beautiful trees created by Beth O'Hara with Millefiori Floral Designs. The reception was indoors in the cavernous tasting room, which was decorated with wooden signs, a photo booth, candles, and more of Millefiori's beautiful flower arrangements. Lighting, candles, flowers, and accessories created a romantic ambiance in each room.

The bride and groom were a photographer's dream! They devoted 4 hours strictly to photos with Jen Good Photography. A limo drove the wedding party around Los Gatos stopping off at their favorite spots in town to take pictures. They captured the playful, the romantic, and the personality of their relationship. UC Berkeley's Forest Fantasy | The Knot's Pick of Best Outdoor Site

Darcy Padilla Photography The Knot's pick of best outdoor sites features the Redwood Grove at the UC Botanical Gardens. This place is beautiful ~ the tall redwood trees create a very magical and romantic setting while the amphitheater creates an atypical but intimate ceremony site. We coordinated Christine and Tom's wedding here last August. Everything from the floral arrangements to the voluptuous redwoods was stunning and caught the guests by surprise.

The service started with the bridesmaids and groomsmen entering from behind the guests as tradition states, but the bride and her father walked through the trees down a winding path in front of the amphitheater, allowing the guests to sneak a peak of the bride in between the tree trunks and the greenery.  During the service, Christine's brother joined the musicians by playing the violin. It was romantic, peaceful, and perfect!

The Gatekeepers Wedding | Rustic Elegance

Focus Photo Tahoe Meghan and JJ had a gorgeous wedding with a fantastic view of Lake Tahoe last weekend. The threatening thunder clouds provided an ominous backdrop and thankfully left us surprisingly dry! The Gatekeepers Museum made for a beautiful woodsy, serene venue, which was complimented by their 'mountain themed' features including river rocks as place cards, moss to decorate the cake table, and bamboo linens. Lake Tahoe Wedding | Blissful Surprise

Johanna and Aaron certainly had a blissful wedding featuring Lake Tahoe's finest venues along with Mother Nature's surprising elements.  Not only did they have a stunning ceremony on the lake, but they also had the accompaniments of early winter snow and mid fall sunshine.  This happy couple celebrated every ounce of peculiar happenings embracing snowball fights during the rehearsal dinner and floating the Truckee river the day prior.

As the bride's family is Jewish and the groom's Christian, the wedding consisted of a merriment of the two religions.  Champagne, blankets, white wooden chairs, a beautifully intricate Chuppah, and a stunning lake view greeted the guests at the ceremony site.  Although a little chilly, the bride and bridesmaids managed to pose in their strapless dresses with stunning bouquets (by Bellissima Floral).  The couple departed in a bold red old Land Cruiser with pine cones trailing behind.  Unique, fun, and constant entertainment defined this wedding!

Queen of the Snows Wedding | Warm & Cozy

Carolyn and Ken were married on a perfect, crisp winter day in North Lake Tahoe. The families rented large cabins in Squaw Valley equipped with hot tubs, numerous bedrooms, pool tables, foosball, and large refrigerators. The in-house entertainment assisted in keeping this destination wedding's cost to a minimum. The ceremony took place at Queen of the Snows Catholic Church in Squaw Valley. As a huge storm delivered 6 feet of snow a few days prior the bride entered through a roofless tunnel of snow and into the back door.

The reception was held at PlumpJack Squaw Valley Inn. As guests entered from the cold, they were greeted by a warm candle-lit foyer with a beautiful glowing place-card table. Bellissima Floral created a gorgeous 3 tier display of red cherries, floating candles, red berries, and white roses, which made for a welcoming ambiance that set the intimate and romantic setting for the evening. This ambiance continued in the reception room with aspen trees lit up with white lights and pictures of the couple growing up hanging from the branches; votive candelabras on the tables; and a 13 piece band to entertain the guests all night long.
